Your account
You can read most of this site without an account. If you create one:
- Give us a real email address you control
- Don't share your sign-in link; it's the key to your account
- You're responsible for what happens under your account
- You can delete it at any time from your account page
We can suspend or delete an account that's being used to spam, harass, or break these terms. We'll usually warn you first unless the situation is serious, and we'll tell you why.
Comments and other things you post
You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it here, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display it on the site and in our newsletter. That licence ends when you delete the comment, except for copies already sent in emails, which we can't unsend.
Don't post: anything illegal, harassment or threats, spam or undisclosed promotion, other people's private information, content you don't have the rights to, or spoilers for a story outside a spoiler tag. Don't post exploit tools, cheat downloads, or account-trading and boosting offers.
We can remove comments that break these rules. If we remove yours or restrict your account, we'll tell you the reason, and you can ask us to reconsider by email.
Reporting illegal content. If you think something on this site is illegal, email kernelandshell@gmail.com with the link and why you think so. This address is also our single point of contact for users and for authorities under the EU Digital Services Act. You can write to us in English, Czech, German or Dutch.
Our content
Articles, images and test data on this site belong to us or our contributors. You may quote us with attribution and a link. You may not republish whole articles. We reserve our rights against text and data mining of this site, including for training machine learning models, unless we agree in writing.
Game names, artwork and logos belong to their owners.
Reviews, scores and recommendations
Our reviews are opinions formed from our own play. Scores are relative to what we've played, and they can change when a patch changes the game. We update articles rather than pretending the original was right.
Games change with every patch, and a guide can be out of date the day after it's right. Codes expire, drop rates get rebalanced, and exploits get patched. Back up your save before trying anything that risks it, and never share your account login with anyone offering items, boosts or "free" currency.
No publisher pays for a review, sees one before publication, or has any say over a score. Where a game or product was supplied to us, we say so in the article.

Third-party sites
We link out constantly. Those sites aren't ours and we're not responsible for them.
Liability
We try to keep the site up, accurate and current, but the free content is provided as it is, with no promise that it is complete or still correct for your version of a game. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss caused by relying on it.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for harm caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to a person's natural rights, or any right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by agreement.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
If you are a consumer and we can't settle a dispute between us, you can use out-of-court dispute resolution through the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), Štěpánská 44, 110 00 Praha 1, www.coi.gov.cz, adr.coi.gov.cz. Our activity is supervised by the trade licensing office (Úřad městské části Praha 8), and personal data protection by the Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.gov.cz).
Changes
We can update these terms. The date at the top will change, and material changes get an email to subscribers at least 14 days before they take effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can delete your account before it applies.
